The crochet family arrive every year, as if by magic, after the first big snow falls, normally in November.

Papa and Mama have four children. Kal and Kip, their sons, and Destash and Lys, their daughters.

They live in a house built of snow and ice in a forest on a little island near Scandinavia.

Either side of the forest are big hills stretching as far as the eyes can see……
