‘In the Cool of the Day’
Creative reflections from the garden
Perfectly manicured or wild and overgrown, there’s something special about gardens.
Recent experiences of ‘lockdown’ have made us realise afresh how important these outside spaces are for our physical and mental wellbeing. Yet gardens can also be places that open doors into the realm of the spiritual, where we may encounter God, the Creator, walking in ‘the cool of the day’.
Assembled to a backdrop of pandemic and climate change, the reflections, poems and pictures in this book encourage us to listen, to savour the present moment and be ready to respond to the God who is always seeking, loving and calling us.
