An ‘L’ of a Job by Bob Ronaldson
Price: £6.95
This collection of anecdotes from actual driving tests, is intended to give a lie to the myth of the Driving Examiner who is waiting to ‘pounce’ on the slightest mistake. Just the opposite is the case. On test, your examiner starts out with the assumption that you would not be there if you didn’t believe that you were ready and able to meet the required standard. After all, why would you want to waste your money, knowing that you were not! As a highly experienced driver, the examiner cam ‘read’ a situation as it develops. I have lost count of the times I have thought , ‘don’t do that’, followed by ‘no, don’t do THAT!’ Then they have gone and done it!
No examiner WANTS to fail a candidate, after all it makes him or her extra work! I have used a pseudonym solely so that there is no possibility of any particular test centre or personnel being identified. I can assure you that all of the anecdotes actually happened!
Enjoy the read, have a laugh and don’t be too hard on your poor examiner!
