The Rev Stephen Hatcher, a Methodist Minister, moved to North Staffordshire in 1996 to develop Englesea Brook Chapel as a Methodist Heritage site with a particular focus on Primitive Methodism and contemporary outreach. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester for a thesis on Primitive Methodism, and a Queen’s Award of BEM for ‘Services to Methodism’. He has four children and is married to Julia who has been a great support.
This book uses contemporary press cuttings to outline the story of the innovation of Englesea Brook, from its early conception in 1983, to fulfilment, while he was the director.
